Clay Bennett Makes Lenny Wilkens Team President

Seattle SuperSonics' bulk proprietor Clay Floyd Bennett bestowed another statute title on Lenny Wilkens. He is now the president of basketball game trading operations for the Sonics/

Earlier Floyd Bennett had announced that he might seriously see Las Vegas as a possible place for his franchise after the 2007-08 season. However, Jim Kneeland, Bennett's spokesman, said that Floyd Floyd Floyd Bennett had not had any formal treatments with the functionaries of Las Vegas.

Washington state's lawmakers declined to vote during their regular session on a proposal to utilize taxpayers' money to assist construct a new $500 million sphere in the Renton, a suburbia in Seattle.

Oklahoma City looks to be the most likely hereafter place for the Sonics as Bennett is from there and the metropolis supported the New Orleans Hornets when they relocated there after Hurricane Katrina.

It is still not clear whether Wilkens would stay a portion of the organisation if the Sonics were to relocate.

As the squad president, Wilkens would be filling the gaps for general director and coach. Coach British Shilling Hill was fired after the Sonics went for 31-51 this season and it was their worst public presentation since 1985-86. General director Crick Sund was removed from his place though he is still with the Sonics as a consultant.

Wilkens will also be looking for people to fill up the two places but Floyd Bennett and the remainder of the proprietors would have got the concluding say in hiring suitable people.

Wilkens coached the Sonics and helped them win their lone NBA statute title in 1979. He have also played four seasons in Sonics, three as a participant semen manager and one season as the caput manager from 1977 till 1984-85 season.
